More Tired Babble Fail

The Lady Chablis: It's like my mom always said: "Two tears in a bucket, motherfuck it."
John Kelso: I'll have to remember that one.

-from the movie "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil"

Well hello ladies and jellyspoons! It's Monday! And do you know what that means?

Absolutely nothing! aside from the fact that my last post was two weeks ago two weeks ago Monday. (Can we say EPIC FAIL?)

LOL! No really though. Nothing much has happened since last we spoke. Well, in the way of writing, I mean.

An old story from a few years ago was recently brought to my attention. Out of curiosity and nostalgia, I reread it and found grammar, etc, mistakes which I revised. Other than that, I have been dabbling in my notebook a little. Not a lot though I wrote out a blurb of a scene for the LEVERAGE fanfic that's in my head. I also mentally plotted out a few scenes from the Blood books/Blood Ties fanfic in my head. I dabbled with a scene from a story idea I've had for a while now. The overall story is still a bit foggy, but the interaction between a couple of the characters is fleshing out. The scene I played with would take place between halfway to three-quarters into the story.

I occasionally see flickers of stories/novels I was working on - empty rooms where the characters live or where scenes take place - but nothing sparking up again in the creativity department (and that saddens/depresses me).

I'm still in that lull since the car accident, and I want to get out of it. Before the commute with getting up early and all the walking was wearing on me. Tack onto that the stress of finding a damn car...

Just gotta have faith that it'll all work out in the end, right?

Just wish it'd work out sooner rather than "deargawditstakingforever" later.

Aside from work, my focus is drifting. Even writing this has been a challenge. And posting? Let's see if I remember to post this when I finish it.

I think I need to start meditating or something. I think perhaps being in a better state of zen will help (at least) with my writing. As it is, my sleep has been a little shoddy. With the dogs barking at every little thing or my cat being randomly needy or just me bolting awake (which is just me laying in bed and opening my eyes like WTF?!)

Right now I'm working on sitting upright at my desk snacking on lunch as well as daydreaming of a rolling pin that I could roll down my front and remove all my fat. (Yup. That's how my mind works.)

Landlady is behind on utilities again (meaning making copies of the bills for me so I can pay her my portion). She texted me asking if I could let her know what the last utilities I paid her were and when. Aside from rent, I pay her PG&E, water and garbage. Oh yeah, and I donate to the toilet paper fund every once in a while. I wrote the requested info on a post-it note and gave it to her.

Greg L and Kevan F were in town this weekend. Me, Steve C and Kathy W met them from brunch yesterday, then we went back to Kathy and Steve's place to hang out where we found Geoff T sitting in his jammies reading a book on the couch. He would have come out to play earlier, but I guess he wasn't feeling very well. We sat and talked, and then the boys left for Endgame in Oakland and then home to Sacramento. I chilled at the house and watched Les Mis with Kathy and Geoff. I think I napped some. After the movie, Kathy drove me to Jim and Leah's for Game of Thrones (after which Leah drove me home).

Yes my friends. I am sans automobile again.

One will be on loan to me as soon as its out of the shop from a quick fix up, but that most likely won't be until the end of the week. Today was my first day back on public transportation, and my goodness... I think I nodded off a little. But I finished another audiobook, so that's cool! (It's all about accomplishments... no matter how small.)

Work has been work. I finished my first menu and they're doing a test order on it today. So excited. Hope it all works out.

Thursday I will be watching some of an Iron Man Movie Marathon. For some reason I thought it was going to be on Friday, but it's a lead up to Iron Man 3. The third installation is showing at 9pm, and I checked with the theatre if I could just buy a ticket for that showing but the same theatre where Jim and Leah would be, but alas... it's a package deal so nope. (Pouty face.) I let my Dynamic Husband and Wife Duo know this, and they decided they would buy another package deal and that I would just reimburse for the movie I actually see. (I'm working 9a-6p that day.) They didn't have to do that, and I told them so, but they acted like it was no big deal, and now I get to see awesome nerdy movie joy with friends. Huzzah! And to add to the awesome, Wednesday after work, I'm heading to their house to pick up Leah's car so I can just meet them at the theatre Thursday night, and Jim thinks I might get a chance to see The Avengers again, too.

They're showing Iron Man, Iron Man 2, The Avengers and then IRON MAN 3!!!

A little snag in carless plans... I have a chiropractor appointment around 8am Friday and then an "appointment" at 8:30am. I asked Leah if it was possible to keep the car until after my appointment (she needs her car at noon). I'm pretty sure that'll work, and using her car will be the most convenient, so I'm hoping that works out in all our favors.

Oh my chiropractor. So... two weeks ago on Friday the tape he put on my leg was still good so we left it on. A few days later it started to peel so I took it off. Around this time, my leg decided to feel crappier than usual. It kinda started to feel like it did a week or so after the accident. My calf was getting tight, my knee was a little, and my ankle was none too pleased. When I got to his place last week, I was sort of limping (or really just favoring my right leg), so when he asked me how I had been, I let him know the tape came off and my leg didn't like me. I couldn't even sit Indian-style on my bed for very long (if at all) since my leg really didn't like that. He had me dangle my foot off the table and he poked and prodded it, and heard this "knock knock knock" sound when he moved my foot around. Then he held on, looked at me, asked if I was ready, and then adjusted my ankle.

Yeah, not something I'm too terribly happy about or would care to have repeated, but it did feel better than before.

I returned to the ibruprofen/elevation cocktail with ice. Last night at Jim and Leah's my leg was really grumpy. Jim gave me 800mg ibruprofen and strapped an ice pack to my shin. He offered to get me a foot stool, but I just stretched out on my usual loveseat spot while we watched Game of Thrones. He even handed me my dinner as well as gave me ice cream after. (My Fuzzy Lumpkin is so sweet.)

Submitted my NERDHQ volunteer application a few days ago. I hope I get picked. I volunteered for the last two years. Was tons of fun and loved meeting and working with everyone. My goal is to have a car by then and hopefully drive out to San Diego in July. The only issue is that I don't get paid for those days off so I'll need to save up. Also need to work on finding some floor space or a closet to crawl into.

I also had hoped to be half the size I am now, but that rolling pin idea hasn't worked itself out yet.

Urgh! Aside from my leg occasionally giving me grief, my body decided I needed to lose my powers TWICE this month. (If you don't know what I mean by "powerloss" - I'm not going to take the time to tell you.) In any case, I should - hopefully - have my powers back in a day or so.

In other news of the boring variety, I have been experimenting with products for my hair. Those that know me know I'm a tomboy and don't care much for lengthy styling sessions but still need to tame the "beast". I just wash it, condition it, and put something in it that doesn't make me look like a dandelion on crack and doesn't make my hair feel all crunchy and look all hair helmety. I still have yet to perfect a method to my fro's madness. Usually I miss a spot leaving random parts of my frizzy and dry. I rarely have a good hair day. Sometimes I wish I were girlier so I would know more about things like makeup and hair and fashion, but nope. I just powder my face so it's not shiny, I pull my hair back in a clip or hair tie, and I wear what's comfortable.

I've been watching a lot of curly hair videos, but all the vids that I watch are either for African-American hair with much tighter curls than me or girls with wavy hair (which are WAY less curly than me). In any case, I decided to play mixologist and in a small empty moisturizer jar that I cleaned out, I mixed some things that alone don't really do anything for my hair but hopefully together... well, we'll see.

Okay. It's been two weeks. I think this post is long enough.

Later my lovelies! (hopefully not two more weeks later)

Movies, Chiro, and Missing Fridays...

Sarah Whittle: You just saw three monkeys go by on a motorcycle, didn't you?
Judy Shepherd: Yeah.
Sarah Whittle: Good girl.
-from the movie "Jumanji"

SOOO... nothing much happening in my world... aside from occasionally typing on a keyboard where the Y doesn't want to work. If you were to hear me typing, every once in a while, you'd heard a hard BAM on one key.

Guess which one that would be?

Was reassessed by the chiro Friday. Neck looking better. Lower back and leg about the same though also getting better. He re-taped my leg so instead of looking like this: # ... it now looks like a fat version of this: +. He now switched my visits to once a week (I think I heard him say for a month), so I'm seeing him in a week - aka this coming Friday. He'd asked me if he'd given me something - I think something like the wobble board for exercises but instead for my back - and I told him no.

In other news, after work Friday, I headed over to Jimbo and Leabo's house to feed their cats and stab one of them (insulin shot) and then meet up with them at the movie theatre to watch The Croods. I have to say I was a little wary about whether or not I wanted to see that movie. It just didn't jump out and grab me like most movies do. But I thought why not. I'd be with friends, and also it was free (a thank you for taking care of the cats... which I'm happy to do whenever I can). The movie was funny, the animation was amazing, and dammit if the flick didn't make me cry. Sheesh!

My favorites in the film were Belt and the baby. Guy and Gran were pretty cool, too.

Hung out with Lailani B Thursday night. I was a little hungry, but she said wasn't so much... just wanted to snack on meat. She was craving Korean so with the help of my Yelp app, I found three Korean places open late. I had her pick one, and off we went. It was a nice little hole in the wall and reminded me of the hot pot place I went to where you cook your own food. We shared a meal and some berry wine. The food was all right though I was tired so I don't think I appreciated/enjoyed it as much as we would have. My original intention was to maybe try and sneak in a movie on the way home - Side Effects - but she texted me, and I answered.

I thought about seeing it Saturday after work, but it was no longer playing at the cheapy theatre on the way home. I think it's still playing in regular theatres, but I only have one movie pass left. Wanna make it a good one. Have a tentative date with Jimbo to see GI Joe: Retaliation (which I don't expect to be great, but the cast and action will make me happy). Leabo doesn't want to see it which is fine since Jimbo didn't want to see Evil Dead which I saw with her on Tuesday. There's talk of going to see the Iron Man movie marathon, but I thought it was just going to be the three Iron Man flicks, but they're including The Avengers. Hmmm. If Jimbo and Leabo do it with me (or if SOMEONE does), I'll go, but solo? I'll just do Iron Man 3.

Even though a lot of people shat on the Sam Raimi OZ movie, I still want to see it. Maybe I'll have to wait for a girls night with the DVD and cocktails.

I'm starting to learn production at work. I did a little on Friday before I left for the day. Did one update which was essentially editing/updating an already established document. So far I haven't heard anything about it so I'm thinking it went okay. Wes H did my training, and I finished it before I left, and the last think I remember him saying was that he was going to update it that night... or at least that's what I thought he said. *shrug*

Haven't written much. Wrote another post about Sour Rockstar drinks but nothing much after that.

I have two fanfic scenes to two different fanfics running amok in my head.

One is from LEVERAGE, and it's a fight scene.

The other is from BLOOD BOOKS/SMOKE BOOKS by Tanya Huff and is a love scene with Henry Fitzroy (as played by Kyle Schmid from the Blood Ties TV series).

Both scenes keep changing slightly, and maybe I'll write them out some day to get them out of my head... but we'll see.

Had a Western-y dream Friday night which I thought odd since I don't usually dream Westerns.

(The following is copy/pasted from my Facebook.)

Had a weird Western-y dream last night. I was the only chic of a four person group. Others in the group were Robert Redford and William H Macy. Can't remember the fourth guy since he'd gone on ahead. We all wore black/dark grey clothes. It was grey skies and a little muddy. We rode out of town starting our journey, and I said "I need a gun." Both men handed me a weapon - Macy to my right handed me a shotgun, Redford to my left a hefty pistol. I took the shotgun but Redford still offered the pistol if I wanted it. I must've turned him down since he pocketed it back in his holster. I slipped the gun strap over my shoulder and continued to ride. Eventually we made it to wherever we were going. We met up with our fourth member who I still have no idea who he was. We were looking for someone. I was dressed in pants and made to look not blatantly female since that would be a problem though my long dark hair laid in a braid down my back.

And aside from the feeling of the situation being serious and tense - like what we were up to was life and death important - that's all I remember.

Turns out Jimbo had a Western-type dream, too. He told it to me when I came over Sunday night for Game of Thrones. His was a movie type where he was just watching what was happening. Had to do with a woman named Sara who was really a French chic named Jaqueline, and people were deporting French people back to France. Sara/Jaqueline was married, and then there was this other chic named Sara so they swapped passports, and the other Sara was like "I've always wanted to see Paris." (Did I get that right, Jimbo?) I thought it was a cool and interesting dream, and he said, "Well, mine didn't have Robert Redford and William H Macy in it handing me guns."

In truth, I thought my dream was pretty cool. Redford had shaggy blond hair and scruff. Macy had his long hair from Shameless and a full beard/facial hair. My hair looked like I had it when I'd straightened it recently - pulled back in a ponytail under my hat though loose wavy (not curly) strands framed my face.

I wish I remembered more. Would have made a good story. Never written a Western before. Might take a stab at it one of these days.

Other than that, nothing much has happened in my life. Just work, home, friends, sleep, Hulu...

Jimbo and Leabo are recording "Remember Sunday" for me since I'll be working that night and wouldn't be able to watch it anyway at my house. Yay for Zachary Levi and Alexis Bledel! They'll also be saving Game of Thrones for me so that's something else to watch.

Sleepy now. Lunch hour almost up. Been snacking on my shredded pork in garlic sauce. (Was spicier than I thought it'd be, but good.)

Okay, time to find some kind of crack to wake my ass up and keep me awake until 7pm (that's when I'm outta here).

Later my lovelies.

Wibbly-Wobbly, Timey-Wimey, Babbley-Wabbley...

I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.
-Albert Einstein

Came in to work Monday at 9am. Marla A called in sick, so I was asked to stay until 7pm (which I said yes to). Monica D came in earlier to help out as well.

So that's one hour OT. Woo hoo for me!

Nothing much happened that day. I ran an errand or two and then headed home, did my wobble board exercises, watched some Hulu (I think), and then hit the sack.

Tuesday was chiropractor day. After that I went home and a couple hours later Leabo picked me up and we saw EVIL DEAD. It's been a while since I'd seen the original, but I have to say I enjoyed the new one. It was a nice nod to the original while adding a few new bits. (And for those that haven't seen it yet and plan to... WAIT for the end of the credits. That's all I'm sayin'.)

We ran a few errands for Leabo and had lunch before she took me home where I... passed the frak out! I woke up a few hours later and reached for my phone for the time. The first thought that crossed my mind was that I could make a cheapy theatre showing of Argo. (Not sure why I thought that, but yeah.) So I got up, shoved some snacks in my new purse (courtesy of my Mom), and headed to the theatre.

It was pretty good. When a movie has me talking to the screen, rooting silently for the good guys so as not to disturb any of the other people in the theatre... yeah, it's a good movie.

After that, I went home, watched some Hulu to unwind, and then hit the sack. I kept waking up in the morning - once at 6am, the next time at 8am... then in half hour spurts until my alarm went off.

On the way to work, I stopped by 7-Eleven for a Slurpee. (As you can tell my PMS was driving the car.) I officially started powerloss this morning which I think is a few days late of my usual body schedule but oh well. If it doesn't happen, I know it's not due to having a bun in the oven. (womp womp) I do feel like crap though. I'm trying to stay away from my normal "this will bloat me up if I consume it" types of things - like chocolate or caramel colored sodas like Coke or Pepsi - but it's Wednesday which means we can order from Quickly which means Vietnamese coffee day. So I'm being a bad girl and having some. I'm trying to pace myself and not gulp it down in one slurp else I'll most likely pay for it later.

I'm off at 8pm tonight. We had a meeting at 1pm which ran a little long. I'm currently on lunch (tail end, actually), and aside from my blogs, I haven't really written anything save an errand list, notes in my planner, and something about Doritos.

Tired. Want to take a nap. I hate powerloss. Always makes me so tired. Not like insomnia does enough of that already. Sheesh.

In other news, Kathy and RJ are both out of the hospital and continuing with their recovery quite nicely. Now if we can just not have anymore bad crap happen, that'd be swell. I think enough of that kind of stuff has happened in my little circle of the world to last my fretful heart a lifetime.

Okay, just looked at the clock, and I got a couple more minutes before I have to clock back in from lunch. I suppose I should stop babbling though like that's ever going to really happen. But at least I can stop it on this post. LOL!

All right. Hope all y'all are having a lovely day, and hopefully I get back to this three posts a week thing soon. I'll get the handle of it again sooner or later.

Later my lovelies.

It's Not About Me Right Now

It's gettin', it's gettin', it's gettin' kinda hectic
It's gettin', it's gettin', it's gettin' kinda hectic
It's gettin', it's gettin', it's gettin' kinda hectic
It's gettin', it's gettin', it's gettin' kinda hectic
-from the song "The Power" by Snap

My mind is a little preoccupied.

I'm currently at work... on my lunch break... thinking about two of my friends who are in the hospital right now.

One needed a kidney. One had a qualified kidney to give.

I've known the guy getting the kidney since my Freshman year of high school. I've known the chic giving the kidney for almost as long... met her through him actually.

When I first found out this was going down, it would hit me in waves. I had been going through my own crap so my mind would bounce from my life to his life to her life and back again.

And then as time went on...
And she was the one that was picked...
And times were picked...
And plans were being made...

He lives in SoCal.

She lives in my neck of the woods though is from SoCal.

The surgery is happening today in SoCal. Well... per the Facebook updates, she went in first. He went in an hour after - I think. He's going to be in surgery for a few hours. She's - I think - in the finishing up stage of her part.

I want to be there. I hate that I'm not. Waiting for the updates are irking me, but yeah...

Right now I'm listening to the Nerdist Podcast with Walton Goggins as I type this. It's a good distraction to the waiting... as well as to the writing...

Other than the waiting, not much else is happening in my life. I'm still going through crap.

Property damage settlement payment received and stowed away. Shopping for a good used car is intimidating me. My body is in various stages of aching and unhappiness. Right now my left leg - knee to ankle - isn't happy, and I have a stitch in the left side of my back. Powerloss will be happening soon so that is adding to the overall body crappy feeling. I still haven't really written anything. I'm tired as frak. All I want to do is sleep. I also need to do laundry some time this weekend.

I might go get my hair blown dry again.
I might go seek out a massage.
I might use one of my movie passes and see something.
I might go to the cheapy theatre and go see something.
I might visit with friends this weekend that I saw last night.
I might go game this weekend.
I might just sleep all weekend.

I'm here until 8pm tonight. The kidney giver is lending me her car while she's out of town. I'm very appreciative and taking good care of her.

Did I mention I'm hella tired?

Later my lovelies.

RJ (Hoofman) is the boy that needed the kidney.
Kathy (my Girlfriend) is the one that gave it.
Sara is the kidney Kathy is giving to RJ.
Goldie is my Girlfiend's car who I'm keeping company until her mother comes home.

Back In the Day When I Slept...

Ben Holmes: Are you going to be here when I get back?
Sarah Lewis: You know me.
Ben Holmes: I would not presume.
-from the movie "Forces of Nature"
It's Monday, and I'm at work again.

I'm sitting at "my" desk eating four cheese ravioli in a cream sauce after having walked about with Kathy W before she left for the day after she finished all her deliveries. That took up about half of my lunch. This may take up the rest. If I run out of lunch time, I'll just have to sneak some blogging in between phone calls, etc.

It's also April Fools day. The day is still young, and I get out of here at 6pm but so far I haven't come across idiots who think that April Fool's is a day to be a dumbass. I mean, I appreciate a good joke as much as the next person, but there's funny and there's choke-a-bitch stupid.

Moving on...

Before I get any further, let me say... I've thought about writing. (That counts, right?) I'm hoping to be caught up soon... ish. (fingerscrossed)

Been car shopping via the interwebs. Hoping to get a car soon. I'm in the "half to settle for" versus what I actually want realm of car purchases. Hopefully I won't get screwed over. If I do, I'm gonna have to choke a bitch.

Went to a going away party for Novim S. I think she left today?... for reserves training in Texas. I wish her the best of luck and may the universe keep her safe... and I will see her again in October.

Mom sent me a package that was delivered Friday while I was at work and apparently no one was home to sign for it, and the post office was closed Saturday (even though the slip said they were open and there was no sign saying WHY they were closed). I'm working all week this week until Saturday so I most likely will not be able to get it until then. *grumble grumble*

Yesterday Jimbo picked me up for dinner and Game of Thrones with him and Leabo. He also reloaded the iPod with more books for me to listen to though I most likely will have Kathy's car by Wednesday for at least a few weeks while she's in SoCal. I think I'll still listen to them during the commute. (One ear bud will do just fine.)

As this Friday draws nearer, I can't help but get even more squiggy. Two of my friends are going under the knife. RJ needs a kidney. Kathy is giving him one. And it's all going down at the end of the week. I know everything is going to be okay, but the surgery part of me makes me worrisome. And I want to do something. I want to be there for them or help take care of them or at least visit them while they are out of commission, but I can't. I'm stuck here just merely thinking about them... so I'll be sending them all the lovely, quick-healing, huggle, kisses, awesome vibes I can.

Today my leg has been acting up. Usually it's either my ankle, shin or knee. Today is the trifecta. Earlier my shin started to ache a little bit, not so much throb but the pain there was like "HEY! I'M GONNA BE ANNOYING NOW!!!" I took some ibuprofen as well as iced/elevated the limb. Then when that stopped, the ankle started up. And then when that stopped, the knee started griping... which is still is. And the chiro wants me to bring the wobble board tomorrow so he can test me on my progress. (I HATE TESTS!) The jury is still out on the MRI situation... which if I had to get one, I'd have to go someplace not local. I think it's a 30-45min drive... I think.

I've never had an MRI before. It would definitely be something to cross off my bucket list.

Okay, I think I've babbled on enough this time around. I'll try and make another one of these word things on Wednesday. Woo hoo!

Later my lovelies.
